Who we are
This policy covers murphywealthplanning.ca, operated by Jarrod Murphy under Murphy Wealth Planning, a fee-for-service financial planning practice serving clients in British Columbia and Alberta. For anything in this policy, you can reach us directly at [email protected].
What we collect
We only collect personal information you choose to give us, through forms on this site:
- Your name, email, and phone number, when you request a conversation through "Get in touch"
- Your name, email, and any optional details you add, when you register for a free webinar, masterclass, or event
- Billing details when you purchase a plan — your payment itself is handled directly by Stripe, our payment processor; we do not see or store your full card number on our own systems
- Anything else you choose to tell us in a free-text field, such as what prompted you to reach out
How we use it
We use what you share with us to respond to your enquiry, send you the information or joining details you asked for, deliver and administer any plan or ongoing service you purchase, and otherwise provide the financial planning services you have engaged us for. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.
Who we share it with
We share personal information only with the service providers that help us run the practice and this website, and with other professionals directly involved in delivering your plan, and only when needed:
- Stripe, to process payments for paid plans
- Cloudflare, which hosts this website, and Neon, our database provider, which securely stores the information submitted through our forms
- Other professionals already involved in your affairs, such as your accountant or lawyer, but only with your knowledge and when it is relevant to your plan
How long we keep it
We keep your personal information only as long as it is needed for the reason you gave it to us. If you reach out, or register for an event or webinar, and never become a client, we keep those details for a reasonable period in case you follow up, and then delete them. If you become a client, we keep your file for as long as you are a client, and afterward for as long as standard recordkeeping practice for financial planning in Canada requires.
Your rights
Under Canadian privacy law, you can ask us at any time to see the personal information we hold about you, correct it, or have it deleted, and you can withdraw your consent to being contacted. Email us and we will respond promptly.
